Here’s a Spring bulletin board idea for your Children’s Library!
Materials used: Colored poster board paper for my bugs and flowers, green and blue bulletin board paper for the backdrop, sticker eyes for the little bugs, and some glue to hold it all together!
How I made it: First I measured the dimensions of the board, then cut out a large piece of green bulletin board paper for the grass. As I cut, I made sure to make the grass look sort of hilly to give the board more dimension. I then stapled the grass onto the board from one side to the other, and let me tell ya, adding the backdrop is always the trickiest part! And luckily the sky blue paper was already in place.
Then I made my three massive, very happy lady bugs all out of poster board. I also made my tiny ladybugs using poster board – except for their eyes which are actually stickers! I then cut out some flowers and added little tufts of grass around them to make them look more realistic. Lastly, I added the phrase “Look who we spotted in the library!” which is, of course, a play on the word spotted (cuz ladybug have spots – haha – get it?). I saw other boards like this on Pinterest with phrases like, “Look who’s been spotted in Kindergarten” so now it’s changed to fit the library.
And there ya have it! The ladybug bulletin board is complete.
Final thoughts: This was super simple and easy to make. If you’re short on time and supplies, I think this would be a good board to try out for Spring.
